I have been practicing law for 25 years. Although I am licensed in Kansas and Missouri, I focus on helping clients in Clay, Jackson, and Platte Counties in Missouri. Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, I graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in three years instead of four receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with departmental honors. I attended the University of Kansas School of Law (KU Law School) at the age of 21 on full academic scholarship. I graduated KU Law School with a Juris Doctorate Degree at the age of 23, graduating in two years instead of three.
After graduating law school I worked in the prestigious role of a Judicial Law Clerk for a Judge in Jackson County, Missouri. Thereafter, I worked as a public defender, then as a city prosecutor and civil litigation attorney in the areas of tax and insurance defense in the City of Kansas City, Missouri Law Department. Thereafter, I worked with a well-known law firm in the areas of personal injury, and medical malpractice. Leaving the firm to raise children, I found my passion in family law because family matters. I have been practicing family law for 16 years. I am involved in several Bar organizations including the Family Law Section of the Missouri Bar. I am also a member of the Black Female Attorney’s Association. Time, wisdom, and creativity are assets I offer clients facing divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, and parenting time issues.
